  5. Thank you for your interest in our software!

  7. When working with this demo version, please notice that no more than five channels can be used. Only the full version
  8. of MC-P/CoCo allows you to create, preview and correct up to sixteen channels like HiFi, Hexachrome or any other
  9. multi-colorset. This demo will also only perform color corrections on small images or selections. If you'd like to see
  10. how it performs on your image, after trying it out on the high res image and seeing how long it would take to apply,
  11. hit undo then select one small portion of the image and choose Command-F to reapply the filter.

  15. This software is copy protected. For this reason the disk must be in the drive when activating the plug-in the first
  16. time.

  19. THE USE OF EXTRA CHANNELS ('BUMP PLATES')
  20. ----------------------------------
  21. 1. Make an extra channel in Photoshop. Select all channels.
  22. 2. Go under Filter to VISU technologies > MC-P/CoCo Demo. You will find the extra channel both in the channel window
  23. and in the color correction window.
  24. 3. One of the unique advantages of MC-P/CoCo is that you can visualize your printing inks. There are two ways to
  25. achieve this. First, double-click on the name 'Color 5' in the channel window. In the window that appears you can move
  26. the RGB sliders to match the color of your printing ink.
  27. The second option is to click on the gray color patch of the fifth channel. The Apple Colorpicker will appear in which
  28. you can pick a color. If you are using the Colortron photospectrometer, all options within its software are applicable
  29. through the Colorpicker. This means that with the Colortron you can measure the color of your printing ink or, for
  30. example, you can select a Pantone color.
  31. 4. After doing this, the fifth channel will be displayed in the chosen color. In the same way as you chose this color,
  32. you are able to change the CMYK-inks, which can be helpful if you want to run a job in for example Pantone 292 -
  33. Magenta - Yellow - Black.
  34. 5. To create the bump plate, go to the color correction window. Let's say you want to use the extra ink in the picture
  35. of a car, but only on the car. Press <alt> and click on the color of the car. Select the Destination-patch and put
  36. extra ink on the car by moving the slider of the fifth color. In this way you control the density. The <R>
  37. (range)-function gives control over the range of colors to be corrected. You can look at the separate channels by
  38. clicking on the dots under the eye-symbol in the channel window.

  41. SPECIAL INKSETS

  43. On this disk you will find some extra inksets. These sets are:
  44. - CMYK for IRIS proof
  45. - CMYK+Pantone 485
  46. - CMYK+Reflex Blue
  47. - PMS300/Black Duotone
  48. - Reflex Blue+Magenta-Yellow-Black
  49.  
  50. The inksets can be loaded into MC-P/CoCo's channel window, allowing you to preview and correct multichannel- and
  51. duotone images in Photoshop. Be sure that you have created and selected the number of channels, mentioned hereunder.
  52. - CMYK for IRIS (4-channel) represents the much brighter cyan, magenta and yellow that the IRIS proof system uses.
  53. Loading this set into your channel window shows what your image will look like when proofing on an IRIS printer.
  54. - CMYK+Pantone 485 (5-channel) displays the fifth channel in Pantone 485.
  55. - CMYK+Reflex Blue (5-channel) displays the fifth channel in Reflex Blue.
  56. - PMS300/black duotone (2-channel): select two Photoshop channels and load this set. The channels will be displayed in
  57. Pantone 300 and black.
  58. - Reflex Blue+Magenta-Yellow-Black (4-channel) previews your image when printed in Reflex Blue instead of the Cyan.

  61. THE SIZE OF THE PREVIEW

  63. Sometimes a small preview appears when 'Big' is chosen in Preferences. This problem is caused by Photoshop 3.0's memory
  64. management, which doesn't allow plug-ins to use the amount of RAM they need. You can solve this problem by installing
  65. 'Piggy Plug-ins Patch' in your plug-ins folder. You can find this Adobe plug-in on the installation disks of Photoshop
  66. 2.5; it was one of the standard plug-ins provided with PS2.5.
